Troop families,
We have some good and bad news to share in a troop 909 GOOD NEWS sandwich.
Good news first….
1. NEW NECKERCHIEFS – we have new McRae tartan neckerchiefs that look AMAZING, and are ready to be distributed as soon as logistics allow – see photo attached. We will be holding a design contest for our patrols to design a troop patch to attach to the new neckerchiefs, more details to come on that. The neckerchiefs will go to any active Scout that has earned Scout rank – if you are not done with Scout, see item #3
Some bad news in the middle…
2. GROUP ACTIVITIES CANCELED – we will be cancelling all Scouting group activities for March and into April, until conditions allow for them again – this includes troop meetings, outings and campouts. We will figure out how to support remaining crossovers in a timely way that makes sense.
It should not be too long before it makes sense to hold some small, patrol sized group activities and outings – we will be ready. UNTIL THEN… beat the cabin fever with hikes with friends and family to enjoy the outdoors with you, inline with your parents expectations, health dept and government guidelines.
Finally, more good news…
3. VIRTUAL VIDEO MEETINGS – we intend to keep meeting on Tuesday nights, using video and conference calls via Skype, Google Hangouts, etc. We will ask for patience as we practice this new way of fellowship and mentorship and see how it goes. We plan to hold these meetings:
– Patrol Meetings
– Scout Rank Advancement meetings
– Trail to First Class meetings
– Merit Badge Workshops
Be on the look out for a schedule and invitations to these meetings.
Please let us know if you have questions.
Booyah!
Mr George, Ms Cleave & Mr Robb
